There are countless excellent reasons why so many people choose to visit Pittsburgh each year, and the city's wealth of quality art galleries is just one. With such a large number of galleries clustered around downtown Pittsburgh, it is easy to spend the day simply walking between them, particularly along 5th Avenue, Butler Street and Liberty Avenue, all of which lie on the southern side of the Allegheny River and north of the Monongahela River.

A number of the art galleries in Pittsburgh are simply 'must sees', with the Andy Warhol Museum on Sandusky Street offering an exceptional collection of some 4,000 different Warhol works in various mediums and plenty of related memorabilia, along with a gift shop and cafe. One of the city's most historic galleries, Concept Art on South Braddock Avenue is known for its American theme and regional paintings, which often embrace the industrial past of Pittsburgh.




Located within the popular Frick Art and Historical Center, the Frick Art Museum contains a priceless collection of Baroque and Renaissance-style paintings, along with Chinese porcelains and intricate tapestries.

Also of note in Pittsburgh are the dramatic abstract sculptures at the Allegheny Landing Sculpture Court on the North Shore Drive, on the northern side of the Roberto Clemente Memorial Park.
